About NATA Entrance Exam


National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) is an Entrance exam conducted by the Council of Architecture (COA) for admission to 5-year Bachelor in Architecture (B.Arch) degree course offered by Institutes / Schools/ Architecture colleges in India.

The test is conducted to measure an applicant's aptitude for architecture, drawing skills, Observation skills, sense of proportion, aesthetic sensitivity & critical thinking ability.

12th or PUC students who are desirous of taking admission to undergraduate couse in architecture are required to pass this test. 


NATA 2024 Examination Dates are announced

The candidates can appear for maximum of 3 attempts in NATA 2024 in one academic year.

  • The best score out of all the attempts shall be considered for declaration of results.
  • The score of NATA Test would be valid for a period of 2 academic years.
  • Examination shall be conducted on all weekends starting from April to July, 2024 in two sessions, subject to number of candidates registered for the session.
  • The candidates need to indicate their preference for session & city of examination while registering at NATA portal www.nata. in.
  • The session during which the candidate will take the test as well as the Test Centres, shall be allotted by the Council, as far as possible, on the basis of cities and sessions preferred by the candidate in the application form. However, the decision of the Council in allotting Test Centre and session to candidates shall be final.


The Tests shall be conducted as per the schedule as given below:

  • Session 1 : 10.00 a.m. to 1.00 pm (180 mins/3.0 hours)
  • Session 2 : 1.30 pm to 4.30 pm (180 mins/ 3.0 hours) 



NATA 2024 Syllabus

Questions & Marks of Examination 


Part A -Drawing and Composition Test - Offline Test - 90 Minutes
A1 – 1 Question – Composition and Color -25 Marks
A2 - 1 Question – Sketching & Composition (Black and White)- 25 Marks
A3 – 1 Question - 3D Composition - 30 Marks
Total 3 Questions - 80 Marks

Part B - MCQ - Computer based online Test - 90 Minutes
B1 - 30 questions x 2 Marks - 60 Marks
B2 - 15 questions x 4 Marks -60 Marks
Total 45 Questions – 120 Marks

TOTAL MARKS: PART – A & PART – B = 200.


NATA Qualifying Score

  • Minimum of 20 marks must be secured in PART A
  • Minimum of 30 marks be secured in PART B
  • Overall qualifying marks for NATA 2024 shall be 70 marks out of 200 as aggregate of PART A & PART B.
  • A Candidate will not qualify in NATA 2024 inless all "three" conditions mentioned above are satisfied.
  • In case the candidate appears in multiple tests, all the previous scores shall appear on the score card. The best score obtained in all attempt shall be taken as the valid score for NATA 2024.

NATA Eligibility Criteria


Every candidate must fulfil following eligibilty criteria for writing NATA entrance exam.

  • Age Limit - No Age Limit
  • Subjects - Candiates must be compulsory pursuing MPC (Math, Physics & Chemistry)
  • Qualifications - Candiates should be 12th passed from a recognised board.
  • Marks - Candidates must score atleast 50% marks in Math, Physics & Chemistry (MPC) & atleast 50% marks in aggregate in 12th class. There is a 5% relaxation for SC, ST, OBC - NCL Category or PWD (Person witha disability)
  • Diploma - candidates must pass 10+3 diploma examination with math as a compulsory subject scoring atleast 50% marks in aggregate. 

Admission Process



Students have to submit their exam scores along with HSC/ 12th Class/ PUC Mark lists to respective state CET cells on or before the deas lines set by them.

Important - students should keep in mind that usuallly CET Cells of diiderant states sets differant deadline date for the submission of NATA scores to them for shortlisting  the candidates for counselling of B.Arch Seats. So the Students should have the knowledge of these deadline dates  &  plan NATA exam accordingly.
